World of Tanks is a free online battle game. One can download the game client and become part of large-scale tank battles in under a minute after starting. A player will fight legendary vehicles of World War II, and test tank prototypes that never left the drawing board.
Tenacity and good combat skills will allow you to upgrade vehicles of any type and level, without spending a dime. However, a small financial investment - microtransactions - can give you an excellent opportunity to make your gaming experience not only fun but also more comfortable. When you pay real money, you get special in-game currency - Gold, which simplifies leveling up your vehicles.
So what can you get with Gold?
Premium Account
The most important thing that Gold is used for is to buy a subscription for a Premium Account, which allows a player to research desirable vehicles quicker and to save time on its purchase. It gives more Credits and Experience per battle. It is a great deal as the profit after paying for repairs and ammo increases two- or threefold, depending on your performance in battle (amount of damage, destroyed enemies, base captured/defended, enemies detected, etc). You can buy Premium Account for one day, three days, a week, a month (30 days), half a year (180 days), or a year (360 days).

Conversion of Gold to Game Credits
Sometimes players do not have enough Credits to buy new vehicles or modules. One way of getting more Credits is to participate in more battles and earn more Credits. The second way is to convert Gold into Credits and then buy the desired vehicles, modules or equipment which is certainly easier and quicker.
Experience Conversion
Once a vehicle is fully researched, it acquires the 'Elite' status, which means that all its Experience will be accumulated after each battle. Use Gold to convert this experience into Free Experience and you will be able to use it for upgrading any other tank!
Premium Vehicles
Another important element are Premium vehicles, which are not included in the Tech Trees and can be purchased for in-game Gold or in the Premium Shop. These vehicles cannot be modified, they have no heavy guns or impenetrable armor but they are a good way to make profit. With good tactics, they can earn large amounts of Credits and Experience, the latter then can be converted to Free Experience with the use of Gold.
Crew Training
Tanks can be bought with or without crew. The abilities of your crew depend on the efficiency of your tank. If you buy your tank with crew, you can choose between three crew training options: Rapid course (Training level at 50%) for free, Regimental school (Training level at 75%) using Credits and Tank academy (Training level at 100%) using Gold. Your tank will be most effective with a crew trained to 100%.
Additional Slots in Garage
One can place up to 5 tanks in a standard shed. But what can you do when all slots are occupied and you still want to park one more tank? Use Gold to purchase additional slots and move your brand-new steel monster in!
Premium Shells
Premium ammo is more effective than regular ammo due to higher penetration values. Premium shells can damage vehicles where regular ammo may bounce or ricochet.
Premium Consumables
Consumables are single-use items used during the battle to provide a bonus for a one-time event or for a single match, increasing tank performance and healing crew members. World of Tanks offers the two forms of Consumables: Regular, purchased with Credits and Premium, purchased with Gold. The Premium Consumables multiply the power of the vehicle making it more successful and effective during the battle.
Crew Re-training
Each crew member is trained specifically for a certain vehicle. If you wish to assign him to another tank, you will have to re-train the tanker. Click on the Training tab in the tanker's Personal Data to choose the desired re-training courses. The Regimental School and Rapid Courses will re-train the crew member to fit the new vehicle but with the loss of some Skills and Qualifications level. You can assign the tanker to another tank without the loss of the earned Skills and Qualifications experience by selecting the Tank Academy courses -- in this case the tanker is re-trained for the new vehicle still having the earned experience.
Enlarging Barracks
A player can always enlarge the barracks, providing more place for the crew members. Make your crew 100% effective and smash the enemy on the battlefields of World of Tanks!
Demount Equipment
Equipment are one-time cost additions with each having its own advantage, but they come at a high cost. Permanent Equipment has an in-game gold bolt icon and can be demounted for 10 Gold everytime you need to demount it without the need to destroy it.
Renaming Crew Members
When hiring crew, you may want to change their names or looks, known as Personal Data. To do so, open the crew member's Personal file, click on Personal Data and change the name or the face peculiarities.
Creating a Clan
Clan Wars are already in full swing. Many Clans are fighting for provinces on the Global map. You have the opportunity to create your own Clan and start conquering the world! But creating and managing a Clan requires Gold assets which can be divided among the Clan members.
